Village Market

Village Market

A market is where goods(things) are bought and sold. In towns there are permanent market. In villages there are no permanent markets. They are held once or twice a week. There is generally one market held for several villages. The market is generally held in on open place. There is great activity in the villages on the market day. Traders from nearby towns take their own products for sale. Some vendors have stalls. There are different rows for different goods(things). Luxury and fancy goods are not to be found in a village market. Old and young folks from distant villages flock to the market. They eagerly wait for this day. They are eager to have the things they need to sell the the things they have produced. A village market is full of dust and noise. Everyone talks at the top of his voice(loudly). There is a lot of higgling. Even after a lot of bargaining you are not sure if you have struck a bargain. To the villagers the market is not meant for only buying and selling. The village market is a boon for the villagers. It is here that they can have the goods(things) they need. Otherwise they would have to go from remote villages to towns. This would mean waste of time, energy and money. Also, it is in the village market that they can sell their own home made products.
