Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the only one son of Pandit Motilal Nehru. He was the worthy son of a worthy father. He was born at Allahabad on the 14th November, 1889. He came of an aristoratic family. He received his early education through governesses and private tutors at home. When his family went on a tour to Europe, he was admitted to the Harrow. Public school in England. He received education at Harrow and Cambridge. He became a bar-at-law in 1912. He returned to India and joined the bar at the Allahabad High Court. Through he joined the bar, his heart was not in the profession. He was distined to be a great man. He was naturally inclined towards politics. He soon became a prominent figure in India. He was elected President of the Indian National Congress in 1929. He was the first Prime Minister of the Indian Union. He adorned this post till the last moment of life. Pandit Nehru was sincere honest and dignified. He had wonderful capacity for self-effacement and compromise. His suffering and sacrifices have no parallel in history. His was the unique example of self sacrifice. He had wonderful energy and ability. Even at his old age he made long whirlwind tours and attended to his work for hours together. He was a great scholar, and wrote a number of good books. It was he held aloft India's banner of independence and led India to glory.
